Airplane Casual

I always go back and forth on what I should wear on an airplane. I want to look “presentable”, but I also want to be comfortable. Days of me walking down the terminal in Jimmy Choos are gone (those were good days)! Thankfully, the Athleisure trend is going strong and offering comfortable and super cute options.

I have tried many workout brands at all different price points, and I have to admit, you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great legging! These Gap high-rise full length pants come in 3 print options are on sale and range from $40-$65! How can you beat that? When I’m on an airplane I always want to be cozy (I’m usually cold), so this sweatshirt from Shop Bop is perfect. And I love the stripe detail on the sleeve. Accessories: my FAVORITE new Golden Goose high tops (probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever own) and a MCM belt bag. To be honest, I wasn’t completely sold on the belt bag when they came out. I had to warm up to the idea, but this one is amazing. Super cute print, perfect size (wallet, passport, lip gloss!), and my hands are free to carry everything else!

Seeing Spots

I’m definitely seeing spots this season…leopard spots! This is such a fun trend….my only rule is: only ONE leopard piece at a time!! In this blog, I brought you two great leopard looks - one dressy and one casual.

This DVF leopard skirt is an amazing addition to my wardrobe!!! I love the side slit and ruching…super feminine and sexy. I paired it with a simple black silk blouse and my favorite white heel to give the look some contrast.

The next look is more casual and the perfect mix of price points! Sweater is by Whistles, jacket and jeans are Old Navy, and my new sneakers are (old school!) Nike Air Force 1’s!

CAMO

Sometimes I just want to blend in….don’t you? Well, not really…but I will take any excuse to wear one of Fall’s biggest trends - CAMO!!

Camo_1391.jpg

I feel about camo the same way I feel about leopard print - ONLY one piece at a time and keep it sophisticated! And this look is a perfect example. These AMO camo boyfriend jeans are perfection. - flattering, forgiving, and super comfortable. A denim shirt and white heels is the perfect way to complete the look.

Three Best Beach Cover-ups

I don't know about you, but I spend a majority of the Summer in a beach cover up! What I've recently discovered is that coverups don't have to be always purchased in the swimwear section! I prefer to find cute Summer dresses that can double up as a cover up! LOL Here are my top 3 favorites for Summer 2018!

Three fave coverups_1317.jpg

Free People is the PERFECT place to find beach cover ups! I love the bohemian feel of their dresses and this one in particular has pockets and a hood! Accessories: fedora and sandals from Target!

I recently discovered the brand Poupette St. Barth and I am in LOVE! They have the cutest dresses and rompers. Here's another amazing beach cover up! Accessories: Avec Le Filles white slides (on sale) and a My Other Bag tote (similar).

Final fave is this great Rails dress! I love the gathered waist and light weight fabric. Accessories: my Colorado baseball cap :-)

Shorts Season

Is it me or are shorts nowadays REALLY short?? I'm sorry, but I don't want half of my butt cheek hanging out. It's very uncomfortable and not attractive. Just saying. BUT Summer is upon us, and we all need a few good pairs of shorts that we can throw on when we don't want to wear a skirt or a sundress. One trick I discovered recently is "un-cuffing" my jean shorts. It gives me extra length that I need and want (now that I am 44)! I was determined to find more short options, and while shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch for my 14 year old, I found the most amazing pair of shorts. I kid you not! I do recommend going up a size - their clothing seems to be made for very skinny people! They are the perfect length and only $54!

Since these shorts were on the "longer" side and had a cute belt, I decided to dress them up! This lady-like top is from Anthropologie. I love the lace detail around the neck. Accessories: Veronica Beard heels (on repeat - they go with everything!) and a colorful striped straw clutch! I am happy to report that there are short options out there for us ladies who like to keep our butts covered!
