It's Leather Weather!

One of my all-time favorite episodes of Friends is where Ross tries to be "cool" by wearing leather pants, but after a visit to the men's room, he can't get them back up! Thankfully, this ridiculously funny episode didn't sway my love for leather pants. I think every woman should own at least one pair (real or faux). I personally own a few, and in different colors. Maybe it's my rebellious side coming out in suburbia or the fact that most of them have this amazing elasticity that holds everything (that you want) in? Dressed up with heels or casual with flats, this Fall and Winter must-have is a staple in my closet - and should be in yours too! And the best part is that you don't have to break the bank to get a pair (or two!).

These leather trousers from Zara are super comfortable and very reasonably priced. They hang low on the waist without any spill-over! (BONUS!) I paired them with a great denim shirt from Jcrew and patent oxfords. The final touch - a Madewell paisley bandana around my neck and a Balenciaga leather wrap around bracelet. Since I love "getting dressed" I would wear this during the day...maybe for coffee with a friend and then easily transition the look into my evening plans (if I have any...lol), by just switching the shoes to heels. Two outfits in one!

LBD with a twist

I fell in love with this Issey Miyake dress the minute I saw it at Diamond Dream in Bernardsville, NJ. I mean who doesn't like a dress that is super comfortable, flattering, and roomy enough that you can go out to dinner and eat ALL the pasta you want?! The beautiful detail on the bottom makes this black dress NOT "just another black dress". And I also loved that fact that it could be worn as a tunic with jeans.

It was raining the day these photos were taken, so I decided to put on this awesome hat from JCrew to try to salvage my decent hair day. And it worked so well with the dress! That afternoon, I wore the hat again with jeans and a sweater--super cute and versatile! I borrowed these beautiful Brian Atwood heels from my bestie...how lucky am I to have the same shoe size as her? And since I was in head to toe black (not uncommon for me), I added that pop of color with this insane Bao Bao bag from Diamond Dream. This bag folds up so easily and can hold a ton of stuff! Perfect for this mom of 3. The earrings were a gift from my mother in law from Zia Boutique, a very cool jewelry store in Savannah, GA. And I promise you this, this LBD with a twist will make you stand out at any cocktail party (with or without the hat!).

Until next time....xo

Mom's Rock!

At 42 (a few months shy of 43 - gulp!), I still feel 25 inside, though my 3 girls continue to tell me otherwise! So, in fashion how do you dress like you're 42 but feel like you look 25?

The secret is in how you put it all together. This look is a perfect example of edgy and young but also sophisticated. With this look, I promise you won't get any eye rolls or comments like "ugh, mom dress your age", when you pick your kids up from school.... but you might get a request to borrow the outfit (and probably not get it back)!

Everyone needs a biker jacket or some version of one. This Vigoss jacket from Nordstrom is super cute and sells at a great price point! Pair it with a cashmere sweater and the best jeans of the season and your look becomes instantly chic. Final touches are never lost with Jcrew kitten heels and one of my all time favorite bag designers Proenza Schouler.

Launch Day!

Cheers!!

My name is Jennie and I’m a mom of 3 girls, a wife, a friend, an animal lover and officially a STYLE BLOGGER! I am beyond excited to share with you my fashion faves and show you how to piece your wardrobe together to fit your every day lifestyle. And, I promise you - we are going to have a lot of fun!

Here are a few things you should know about me. I like double stuff Oreos and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Often not paired together, but don't knock it until you try it!  In my closet you will find mostly neutral colors: navy, black, gray, tan, white and maybe a sprinkle of burgundy and light pink. I always tell my friends that I will stop wearing black when they make a darker color! I believe shopping this way helps the longevity of your wardrobe. I add in pops of color or patterns with fun accessories each season.

Also - I truly believe that your wardrobe should be a perfect balance of price points. The ideal look is a combination of anything from Christian Louboutin and Madewell to Club Monaco and Old Navy. Trust me, if your look is put together the right way, you can shop at a variety of stores and your friends will be asking you where you bought your outfit!

This look is a perfect example of my style philosophy.

These white pants from Club Monaco are perfectly tailored and beyond flattering. I’m so happy that the off the shoulder trend moved from Summer right into Fall! This Zara top is light weight and warm with the coolest sleeve! And that pop of color I mentioned - how amazing are my earrings and bracelet?? My great friend, Jen Ward at Ward Vintage finds the most beautiful jewelry. Who doesn’t want gorgeous accessories that no one else will be wearing?? My Aldo heels combine two of the most popular colors for Fall - light pink and oxblood. This shoe paired with white and gray is totally unexpected but it works! And finally, my clutch from Mint, one of my fave stores to shop in when visiting my parents in LI,  completes the look. And where am I going? Well, this mom of 3 is going out to dinner with her hubby or friends.....a cocktail party or celebration. This look will take you many fabulous places!

Until next time! xo
