Can you wear jean shorts over the age of 40?

We are entering short season and I love a good pair of jean shorts. However, denim shorts keep getting shorter and shorter and I keep getting older and older! So, I went on a mission to find a great pair of denim shorts that were age appropriate, as well as other items that would make the look more sophisticated and less"hoochie"

This is what I found out....the first thing you have to do is buy the jean shorts two sizes up from your normal size. This makes the shorts hang lower and therefore a bit longer! I went with Levis denim shorts from Aritzia. To keep the look more sophisticated and age "appropriate", I paired the shorts with an oversized white linen blouse from Gap, a black belt (similar), and Dolce Vita flat sandals (similar). Accessories - my fave from Summer Love Designs....the other from Diamonds Doing Good. So, the answer is ...yes, you can definitely wear jean shorts over the age of 40 - it's just a modified version!
