Accessorizing a Classic Look

You truly can't go wrong with jeans and a blazer. It's simple, sophisticated and versatile. As a mom, I find myself in a version of this look quite often, whether I am heading to a school meeting, lacrosse game or lunch with friends. But how do you make this classic look a little more interesting? Accessorize!!

I love these button fly jeans and white v-neck tissue tee from Madewell - both are a great price point and an awesome fit. A tailored navy blazer (similar) is a must in every woman's wardrobe. It can be worn in any season and be dressed up or down. My favorite accessory to buy are shoesbecause they always fit regardless of my work out regimen! I found these Proenza Schouler mules at Saks. Besides being totally different and fun, they are beyond comfortable. Final touch are fun earrings from Banana Republic (less than $50!). Now, go out and buy some fun accessories and spice up your classic looks!

Tales of Traveling Friends!

In a week or so many of us will be going away for Spring Break! Some will head somewhere warm and tropical; others may hop a plane out west to ski or maybe California to visit family and hit the beach. I asked my two gorgeous and fun friends to play dress up with me to show you amazing looks for 3 different destinations!

Sheri's Elizabeth and James look (skirt) (top) would be perfect for St. Barths or other tropical destination. It is sophisticated, chic and the color is so lovely! I kept the accessories simple with suede nude sandals from Club Monaco and a gorgeous necklace from Ward Vintage . Final touch a snakeskin clutch (similar- August Designs).

Vail in March isn't always about snow boots and puffy coats! Rael is ready for dinner in Vail village with Current Elliot jeans, a Vince navy camiblack suede pumps (similar) and a "every girl needs one" black All Saints leather jacket. Accessories - earrings from Ward Vintage.

And where am I going? Well, I think my look is perfect for CA! I recently did a shopping spree at Zara and found this cute light blue skirt. I knew it would be a versatile piece in my wardrobe for Spring and Summer. I grabbed an oversized white button down from Aritzia, fun hot pink sandals - my daughter calls them my Barbie shoes! (similar in style), straw bag with a pop of pink and gorgeous bracelet and earrings from Ward Vintage and I'm ready for an afternoon of shopping and lunch!

Wherever you go for vacation- safe travels and have fun dressing for your destination!

Denim on Denim

Everyone should own a denim shirt. I have a few and I am so happy that they continue to be on trend! I wear mine with anything from a black leather skirt to white linen pants. The question is, can you where a denim shirt with other denim? The answer is heck yeah! I personally love to mix denim rinses like I did in this look. And here's that "pop" of color that I always talk about. Check out these shoes!!!

These AMO black rinse jeans fit like a glove and I love the detail at the ankle! My Jcrew denim shirt is about 7 years old, but I am happy to report that they still sell a few similar styles! Normally, these satin Badgley Mishka heels would be worn for cocktail party or black tie event, but I'm all about every day wear! Why can't you put fancy shoes with denim? There are NO rules! The detail on the back of the shoe as well as the fun color just makes me happy! Final touch, this amazing bag from Anthropologie. It's a great size (it fits my huge IPhone!) and I love the mix of colors and texture. Give denim on denim a try and break out those fancy shoes!

Let's Be Casual (but not always in workout clothes)!

How many of us get up in the morning and immediately put on workout clothes? We drop the kids at school, head to the gym (or not) and then a lot of us stay in our workout clothes the remainder of the day.  Maybe we are short on time or maybe we just don't know what to put on!  I will admit that there are a lot of super cute athleisure clothing out there, however, I want you to know that there is a VAST array of casual clothing that is just as comfortable as your spandex!

I want to thank my friend, Christina for letting us do our photoshoot at her beautiful Harding home. The property is just gorgeous. And a big shout out to Bloom Morristown and their hair/makeup stylists for their great talent!

I bought these leather leggings 3 years ago and I'm beyond happy that Aritzia still has them AND in additional colors! They are the most comfortable pants I own, and literally suck in everything I want to be sucked in! Layering is key in the Winter, so I paired a plaid button down (similar) from Madewell with this cozy turtleneck sweater (sold out - link to something similar) from Mint in Mattituck, NY. Final touches, my New Balance kicks and gray beanie from Athleta. Let me know if you want help finding the balance between your gym-ware and date-night looks!

The Style Power of NEAT Method!

No matter the size of your closet, being organized not only helps you see what you own, but also makes it much easier to get dressed in a dash. I recently met these amazing NJ pro organizers, Erika Downes and Jennifer Ferriso from NEAT Method. This San-Fran founded organizing company is now in over 20 cities across the United States!

Erika & Jen from the NEAT Method, Gabby, a stylist from Bloom Morristown, and Me! I want to give a big shout out to Bloom Morristown for getting all of us glam-ready for our photo shoot together!

I arranged for NEAT Method to conquer one of my client's closets. I saw these two work their NEAT methodology in the smallest closet in my client's beautiful old colonial farm house in Harding. These NEAT girls showed me first hand how a NEAT closet really is the answer to all style questions because you are able find everything you own so easily -  Isn't that a novel idea?! NEAT ideas like feel-good purging through donating to Dress for Success, all black velvet hangers for streamlined hanging, and finally organizing by season and color is closet "life-changing"!. Check out these before and afters! NEAT Method can help you reach your fashion goals because a NEAT closet encourages happy shopping and dressing! Let's grab 2017 by the reins and get organized! Whether it's your closet or truly ANY space in your home - you definitely need to check out NEAT Method on Instagram, Neat Method online and give Erika and Jen a call!
